Frequently asked questions
What is Sports Therapy?
Sports Therapy is a hands-on treatment approach designed to reduce pain, improve movement, and restore normal function. It combines manual therapy techniques like sports massage and joint mobilisation with movement assessment and rehabilitation to address the root cause of your issue — not just the symptoms.
What’s the difference between Sports Therapy and Injury Rehabilitation?
Sports Therapy focuses more on hands-on treatment and immediate symptom relief, helping reduce pain and improve movement in the short term. Injury Rehabilitation, on the other hand, is a structured, progressive plan designed to fully resolve the issue over time through guided exercise and long-term support. Many clients benefit from a combination of both. If you're unsure, we can guide you during your initial appointment.
Do I need to be an athlete to book Sports Therapy?
Not at all. While Sports Therapy is commonly used for sports injuries, it’s just as effective for everyday aches and pains, postural issues, or discomfort from work and lifestyle. Most clients are simply looking to move better, feel better, and stay pain-free.
What conditions can Sports Therapy help with?
Sports Therapy can help with a wide range of issues including muscle strains, joint pain, mobility restrictions, and overuse injuries. For a full breakdown of specific injuries and conditions we treat, visit our Conditions page.
Is treatment painful?
Some techniques can feel slightly uncomfortable, particularly when working on tight or sensitive areas, but treatment should always be manageable and within your comfort level. Everything is explained clearly, and treatment is adapted to suit you.
Can I combine this with other services?
Yes — many clients combine Sports Therapy with Performance Coaching or Personal training, depending on their goals. This allows for a more complete approach, whether you're recovering from injury or looking to improve performance.
